What is Bio Septic Tank

A Bio Septic Tank is an advanced wastewater treatment system designed to treat septic tank using natural biological processes. It uses specially cultivated anaerobic bacteria to break down human waste and organic matter inside the tank, converting it into treated water, gases, and minimal sludge.

Unlike conventional septic tanks that only store and partially separate waste, a bio Septic Tank actively treats septic tank, making the discharge safer for the environment. These systems are widely used in residential houses, apartments, commercial buildings, hotels, hospitals, and industrial facilities where proper sewage treatment is essential.

Bio sewage tanks are engineered to reduce pollution, minimize maintenance, and improve sanitation standards. When designed using RCC precast technology, they offer additional benefits such as structural strength, long life, and leak-proof performance.

How a Bio Sewage Tank Works

A bio sewage tank works through biological digestion and sedimentation processes that occur inside multiple chambers of the tank.

01

Inlet Stage

Wastewater from toilets, bathrooms, and other sanitary sources enters the tank through the inlet pipe. This sewage contains organic waste, suspended solids, and harmful pathogens.

02

Biological Digestion

Inside the digestion chamber, specially developed anaerobic bacteria begin breaking down the organic matter present in the sewage. These bacteria consume the waste and convert it into simpler compounds.

    During this process:

  • Organic solids are decomposed
  • Pathogens are reduced
  • Sludge formation is minimized
03

Gas Formation

As bacteria digest the waste, they produce gases such as methane, carbon dioxide, and trace gases. These gases are safely released through a vent pipe provided in the tank.

04

Settling Process

Heavy solids settle at the bottom of the tank, forming a small layer of sludge. Because of the biological activity, the amount of sludge formed is significantly lower compared to traditional septic tanks.

05

Effluent Discharge

The partially treated wastewater flows out through the outlet pipe and is typically directed to:

  • Soak pits
  • Drainage systems
  • Further treatment units (if required)

The discharged water has lower organic load and fewer contaminants, making it safer for disposal.

Key Components of a Bio Sewage Tank

A properly designed bio sewage tank generally consists of the following components:

Inlet Chamber

The first chamber receives incoming sewage and helps reduce the velocity of wastewater entering the system.

Digestion Chamber

This is the main chamber where bacterial treatment occurs. The bacteria break down organic waste and reduce sludge accumulation.

Settling Chamber

In this chamber, heavier particles settle down, allowing partially treated water to move to the outlet.

Outlet Chamber

This chamber releases treated wastewater into the next stage such as a soak pit or drainage line.

Vent Pipe

The vent pipe allows gases generated during bacterial digestion to escape safely, preventing pressure buildup inside the tank.

Why Choose Togreen’s Rcc Bio Tank

Installation Procedure

1

The pit should be dug according to the tank's dimensions, ensuring at least one foot of clearance around the edges for easy placement.

2

Place about 100 mm of clean sand or crushed stone dust at the bottom of the excavation before lowering the tank. Make sure the material forms a smooth and even base.

3

Use suitable machinery to carefully unload the tank from the truck and position it gently and accurately into the pit.

4

This helps stop surface water from reaching the tank and prevents the tank from floating upwards.

5

Our tanks can be installed directly on compacted soil, but if needed, they can also sit on a slab or plain concrete pad.

6

Confirm there is enough room for large equipment to access the site for tank installation. If necessary, verify this clearance with the installer, particularly if greater than three meters is required.

7

Dig the pit to match the tank size, keeping at least a one-foot margin all around for ease of installation.

8

Custom features like access hatches, fittings, protective coatings, and other options can be included as needed for the project.

9

Lay a 100 mm layer of washed sand or stone dust in the excavated pit to ensure a flat surface for the tank to sit on before installation.

10

Use proper lifting equipment to offload the tank from the delivery truck and slowly guide it directly into the prepared pit.

11

The excavation site should be protected from surface runoff entering and filling the pit.

12

Keep the pit free of water at all times during setup to prevent the tank from coming loose or floating.

13

Most of the time, our concrete tanks can be placed directly on firm ground, but for very soft or clay soils, start with a layer of compacted sand or plain concrete as the foundation.

14

Double-check that there's adequate site access for all machinery needed for tank placement, confirming requirements with the installation team if wider access is necessary.

15

During installation, the pit must be kept dry and pumped free of water to avoid tank displacement.
